About the Cleveland Artist Registry

The Cleveland Artist Registry began as a collaboration of the Artists’ Trust and the Gordon Square Arts District. The Artists’Trust is a community project by Liz Maugans, originally created for the Constant as the Sun exhibition of artists’ self-portraits at MOCA Cleveland. The Gordon Square Arts District was a nonprofit that leveraged vibrant arts and culture to foster economic growth and livability in Gordon Square. In 2020, the Gordon Square nonprofit suspended its operations and the Registry transitioned to Arts Cleveland and Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. The Registry is generously supported by The Cleveland Foundation.

How is the artist registry used?

The community-wide registry is used by local artists to find collaborators, businesses and curators to find new artists to exhibit, theaters and music venues to find new performers, and art collectors looking for local artists. Additionally, the registry is used by the Gordon Square Arts District to engage and support artists and creative professionals who live and work in the neighborhood.
