For many years, Sascha Peppercorn was Cleveland's best-known living statue performance artist. You may have seen her at many of our local street festivals or busking events. Most recently, she has become Madame Sascha, Living Automaton. Madame Sascha made some early appearances at benefits for CleShakes and for Spaces Gallery; but the project was fully realized for the Brite Winter Festival in early 2020. In addition to statue work, she has also appeared in her capacity as a sideshow performer/glasswalker at Cleveland's Screaming, as a vampire protesting the Cleveland Garlic Festival, as the Snow Queen at the downtown holiday lighting ceremony; and as the Holiday Elf Sascha Peppermint, hosting trolley tours of the Gordon Square Arts District.
