Samuel is a dancer and choreographer specializing in the genre of Popping and Animation. Popping is one of the many dance styles under umbrella of Hip-Hop. He has been dancing for 10 years; training with learning from some of the most influential dancers associated including the Electric Boogaloo’s, Slick Dogg of G-Style, and Brian “Footwork” Green. He was also mentored by Valley Style Locking legend, Richard Lechner, G-Style Member, “Fullmetal Sash”, and fellow Cleveland native, Anthony “Tony Fresh” Velez.

Samuel competes across the country in events like Step Ya Game Up in New York City and, Slick City in Chicago. He also participated in renowned international competitions such as International Funk Styles Battle, and Freestyle Session in Los Angeles.

Samuel is also an administrative professional with a degree in arts administration from Baldwin Wallace University. In 2016, he received the Arts Administration Fellowship from the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture in Cleveland, Ohio. This experience would widen his view of Arts and Culture nonprofits and show him how to integrate his artistry in various sectors through programming and business.

He currently works as a Teaching Artist at the historic Karamu House and an Adjunct Hip-Hop Dance Instructor at Kent State University. While still a student of the dance, he wishes to use his perspective of the art form to influence his surrounding environment.
