Art inspires, art encourages and empowers;
As an emerging artist, I love art and my daily inspiration is the world all around me and beyond. Creative arts, music and sewing with my great grand mother and grandmother gave me my introduction into the arts. I'm a Karamu House alumni and studied ceramics which heighten my desire to become an artist. After surviving a stroke and ruptured brain aneurysm I used my art as therapy while studying at Tri-C/Ursuline on my healing journey restoration. Faithful in the knowledge that my art could renew me, with the strength of an eagle. Studying art helped me to develop the gift that God has given me, and to refine my skills in the pursuance of my passion. Art for me is the most powerfully therapeutic tool I could have used in my recovery. I’m inspired by the aesthetics of the world around us and indescribable beauty for art sake. As an emerging artist an essence of myself goes into each piece I create. I enjoy working in a wide variety of mediums, creativity is a rhythmic experience for me. Which gives me the freedom to express my artistic visions.
