“If you only move forward it’s impossible to trip on what’s behind you.” It takes everything blowing up sometimes to figure out how to piece it back together. To see the direction that’s next.
I started practicing looking up. To walk my dog and hold my head up high. To stand tall in all that I do. The more I looked up the more I noticed. The lines that lead you to the next place, the shapes of each house I passed, the the parts of a greater whole.
Each power line, each rooftop, each street comes together to form shapes and patterns we never notice. If you look up long enough everything begins to fit together.
Create the world you want with the pieces that you have. Don’t live by anyone else’s rules. Through this work I played with composition and broke away from rules I was trained to follow to piece together the whole of a new world.
