Julie Cook is a self -taught artists who mainly works in acrylics and mixed media. Julie grew up in Lyndhurst Ohio. Julie and her husband raised their family in Madison and still reside there. They are in the country, so nature surrounds her and she enjoys it and finds it inspiring. Julie loves to experiment with paint and products and see what new textures or techniques she can learn or develop. Although she uses a brush, she also uses sponges, scraps of wood, plastic, trowels, recycled packaging material and a variety of other items. She often uses techniques and tools she has used in faux finishing of walls and furniture. She is inspired by God’s creation and realizes that He has given her creative ability.
Julie’s artwork is in private residences not only in the area but also overseas. She has had her artwork juried into several shows throughout NE Ohio and also has had several solo shows including those at Penitentiary Glen, Fairmount Art Center, Solon Center for the Arts, Holden Arboretum and Moonstruck Gallery. She is an artist at Stella’s Art Gallery in the Matchworks Building in Mentor. See the social media sites for more information on what I do and images of my work.
