I grew up in eastern Ohio next to an apple orchard and forests with moss covered trees.
The beauty of landscape has always surrounded me and was always the creative force behind my artwork.
I find inspiration for my paintings in many places. It can be outside my car window, or on a vacation in Napa Valley.
My work tends to swing like a pendulum.
From realism to ambiguous skys,to literal landscapes of somewhere, which could be anywhere and back again.
While often inspired by places, they transcend time and space to become much more about personal experience enveloped in a romantic melancholy.
