Born in Los Angeles, I have lived in the Cleveland area since 1999 and graduated from Cleveland School of the Arts High School. I am DJ " Himiko Gogo" and station member at WCSB 89.3 FM for 10 years. I host the radio show "Pleasure Leftists" every Thursday morning 9-11am blending an audio collage of a different movie every week with italo disco, new wave, ambient, house and more! I use my DJ/ middle name in "Himiko Gogo's Memorabilia", the "brand" I put on most of my original works. I recently have had a pop up shop in Gordon Square, and installation at Ingenuity and have thrown my 6th NYE party for Mahall's 20 Lanes in Lakewood.
I live for doing creative jobs from logos to murals to DJing and planning event installations and I've spent the last decade experimenting in different mediums. I have fallen in love with the accuracy, depth and versatility of new laser cutting technology and am so happy to finally have one of my own. I can hardly produce pieces as fast as I can dream them up, but I'll tell you, the laser helps!! I learned with lots of help from folks at the Cleveland Public Library Maker Space.
I seek to pick up new skills in different creative areas to enhance the work that I do any chance I get. I particularly love re-imagining spaces indoor and out with playful concepts and color. I am happy to paint on the ground, walls, furniture to bring a space to life as well as collect items and decor as I find them. There are few things I love like I love a good theme to help me dive into an idea!
