Joshua Bechtel was born in Oregon in 1977 and adopted at age 10. He grew up in Estacada, Oregon. He worked at a children's home in Virginia as well as at a Men's rehab in Indiana.
He currently lives in the Cleveland, Ohio, region and is currently wrapping up work on his first fiction book about a mysterious character called AO and his complicated collection of friends.

As a somewhat prolific "wordsmith", he is busy making plans to compile another collection of poetry.
He has written about the effects of being a foster child, from the unique perspective of having been a foster child. Understandably, his experiences in the foster system, and as an adoptee who eventually grew to adulthood, gives him a unique perspective on almost every aspect of life.
