David King was born in Stow, Ohio and currently lives in Cleveland Heights. He received his MFA in Painting from Kent State University. He retired in 2014 from teaching high school art for thirty years. He has been on many committees and juries. He has worked with gifted high school students as the On-site Coordinator for the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 20 years. He has been an Advanced Placement Reader and Table leader for the past 13 years. Mr. King currently is on the exhibition committee for Heights Art and is an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University in the Art Education Department as a Secondary Student Teaching Supervisor. He is also on the board of Artful, a Cleveland Heights based organization providing affordable studio spaces to eastside Cleveland residents.

Mr. King’s work has evolved to a contemporary style using a variety of media. He has exhibited his work in many recent juried shows including The NEO Show-Cleveland Creates, The Utah Arts Alliance, Salt Lake City Utah, and The Faculty Show at Case Western Reserve University. His work is in many collections including Aetna Insurance, The Ohio State University, The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, The Ohio Education Association, The Parkersburg Art Museum, The Cleveland Administration Building, Cleveland Metro Health Center and many more.
