Cynthia Penter is a Media Artist who works in Animation, Digital Photography, Photography, Video, Film, and Video Installation. She received her MFA from Kent State University in Cinematography. Her work has shown in many venues and received many awards. She received Individual Artist Fellowships three times from the Ohio Arts Council (once as a joint OAC/OHC grant) and a Midwest Filmmakers Grant from the American Film Institute. She has taught at various institutions throughout N.E.Ohio. She currently teaches Photography, Film, and Digital Arts at Hiram College. She produces wedding, event, and non profit videos and photography. Her artistic work explores experimentation, movement, spirituality, and the politics of everyday life.
