Cynde Hujarski - a Cleveland, Ohio area artist - received an Associate's Degree in Interior Design and Business from Cuyahoga Community College. Cynde used her design talents to master both commercial and residential spaces.
After mastering large-scale design, Cynde turned her focus to jewelry. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Jewelry/Metals from Kent State University in 2010. Kent State University has the professors, programs, and equipment to provide students with cutting edge technology. Cynde was selected for a juried Kent State Student Art Show during her time at the university.
Always incorporating a reverence for the planet by using recycled materials, she has used film negatives and slides to create earrings, pendants, brooches and bracelets. By repurposing obsolete materials, Cynde has discovered a special "niche" as an artist.
Recently, with the introduction of new collection of nature-inspired jewelry, Cynde incorporates patterns found in nature on the surface of enameled copper forms. These pendants, brooches and earrings create a unique combination of color, texture and pattern. Cynde strives to present the beauty of nature in her unique designs.
Cynde also creates one-of-a-kind custom works of jewelry. Open to the desires and visions of her customer, the opportunity to create that distinctive, one-of-a-kind statement piece becomes possible.
By incorporating a reverence for the planet by using recycled materials, I alter old 35mm film negatives and slides to create earrings, pendants, brooches and bracelets. Recently, I introduced a new collection of nature-inspired jewelry which incorporates patterns found in nature on the surface of enameled copper forms. The images show subtle patterning that is only found by closely examining an individual plant leaf, bark, or other surface. Upon closer inspection of these images, I discovered there is a whole other world of beauty not normally noticed in the nature that surrounds us every day. These tiny works of art are created to remind us to "stop and smell the roses" by examining the beauty not normally seen in the world around us.
