“The search for, and discovery of, extraordinary beauty in the everyday and commonplace; that is the most noble and worthy of endeavors. The result is your art, which when shared, enlightens and enlivens us all.”
This was written to me a very long time ago about my photography. When you work so much on what you love doing, you find it hard to step outside of it and see it from another person’s point of view. The quote above still floors me when I read it. I can only hope you’ll feel the same about my work.
Photography has always been my passion, my hobby, my pastime. I was born and raised in Cleveland, then lived and worked in NYC as a designer in the fashion industry. Gentrification was slowly eating away the city that I called home for 15 years. When I eventually relocated back to Cleveland, I felt compelled to capture Cleveland’s industrial past, before it fades away.
