Chris Seibert was recently named a 2019 Gordon Square Artist-in-Residence. She is currently developing the one-woman busking performance Love's Lost Raree Box, and is serving as director in the development of The Poetry Psychic Show, a new work by fellow Q4 Gordon Square Artist-in-Residence, Denis Michael Griesmer. Chris is a writer, director, performing artist and long-time Gordon Square resident who creates original works in collaboration with professional and community artists. 2018 projects included appearing in Sweat at Cleveland Play House; developing the solo performance Fa(r)ther with director Ivana Bevacqua; contributing to new works by experimental filmmaker Robert Banks and painter John Carlson; and co-creating/touring the dance theatre duet Reckoning with choreographer Kora Radella. Chris is the co-creator of the plays F*** Me Love Me Aphrodite, Ancestra, Insomnia, and the multi-media solo performance Cut to Pieces. Long-time collaborators include director/performer Adam Seeholzer, director/performer Holly Holsinger, director/composer Raymond Bobgan and members of the Cleveland Core Ensemble. Chris’ work has garnered her recognition and support from the Ohio Arts Council, Chesterfield Writer’s Film Project (LA), Chicago C.A.A.P., and DirectorsLabChicago. Chris is a recipient of the Creative Workforce Fellowship, a program of the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture funded by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.
