Catherine McManus is a Photographer, Digital Artist and Designer.
Observing the natural world through her own unique lens since she was a young girl, Catherine’s images attempt to bring the enchanted world to life; a world we do not always see…even when it’s right in front of us.
Catherine was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where she grew up exploring the “Emerald Necklace” of the Cleveland & Lake Metroparks. This environment created a passion for photographing trees, vast meadows, and shorelines. Life experiences later awakened a deeply emotional side to her work.
“Art and nature can be catalysts for healing and resilience. There is a feeling I cannot fully describe when I am standing in a field on an overcast day, sitting alone by a shoreline, or walking through a forest of very old trees. It’s like a familiarity that I’ve been in these places before; maybe in a dream, maybe in another existence. It helps me realize and appreciate the beauty that can be found on our planet. In these quiet moments of reflection, I find peace and that elusive spark of creativity that can so easily evade an artist. I hope my photographs inspire you to seek out the magic in every single day, and as difficult as it can be in the chaos that surrounds us, to truly be present and appreciate the magic when you find it.”
Catherine’s photography and digital art has appeared in galleries, shows and publications across Northeast Ohio, the Pacific Northwest, Los Angeles, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
