My functional ceramic vessels and wares are crafted from an aspiration to create beautiful yet rugged utility. I am interested with clay as a medium for its inherent adaptability and yet archival permanence. Comprehending the physics and chemistry involved in creating and firing a work continually fascinates me and drives my process in a way that other media cannot. For the past year I have been exploring clay native to our region, adorned with glazes that I have mixed and tested from scratch in my glaze lab and then fired locally in gas and wood fired kilns throughout Northern Ohio. It is my passion to produce an object for the fabric of our daily rituals of life, sustenance and higher thinking. This is a vessel, a ware, a legacy of our time here, crafted in Cleveland Ohio, ca. 2018
