Abby Cali is an artist, writer, and educator based in Cleveland, OH. She is dedicated to working on collaborative art processes that advance positive social and environmental impacts. Through Zygote Press’s Global Arts Initiative, she works with immigrant and refugee k-12 students and international professional artists to tell their stories through the universal language of art. Abby is also working with Zygote Press to research environmentally friendly and less toxic printmaking processes to transition lithography from a harmful, chemical heavy medium to a more sustainable one. She is the co-editor of Rise, a collaborative book of poetry, prose, and visual art by survivors of sexualized violence.
Recently, Abby has illustrated the two-player card game Welterweights published by Spontaneously Combustible, and will be attending the Maryland Institute College of Art's M.F.A. in Illustration Practice starting next fall.
